The Bridge, the Caterpillar and the Suitcase

I've also had a recurring dream of being about to leave on a trip and desperately trying to pack at the last minute. The suitcase is out on the bed, but I am always struggling to decide what to put in it, and time is fast running out. There is a personal application which I recognize, but it also feels like a more general call to us as a community to get prepared. This was reinforced when we spent time with God processing what I had seen; Father reminded us of the Parable of the Wise and Foolish Virgins (Matthew 25), and the importance of being ready.

Out of the Blue - Part 2

Analogies are great but obviously don't work for everyone, even in similar situations. The tsunami picture was something I couldn't have initially articulated as I was too busy drowning! When you are busy using all your energy for survival, reflection doesn't come easily. I had the picture some years later when praying for a young lady whose Dad had suddenly passed away. I am not sure how much it helped her but it has helped me for years.

Time makes all the difference

There have been so many times in my life where spending any length of time in God’s presence has had a huge impact on my life. Whether it be at the end of a very busy and hectic day, spending some time getting direction and clarification or even just to hear His soothing voice of love and encouragement.

Ever since my teenage years, I have always longed to spend time with Him in a quiet place to hear what He has got to say to me. Over the years this has taken different forms and involved different aspects of what I do. But the essence of seeking Him is still the same. I long to hear His voice and be with Him.

Under the Blanket

A couple of weeks ago marked a momentous occasion in our household. A ‘coming of age moment’ you might say. My little girl and I watched Cinderella (the original Walt Disney version) for the very first time. Well, it was her first viewing, I obviously watched it hundreds of times in my childhood, and I think my sister and I probably wore the VHS thin throughout the mid-’90s.

Insights on Lockdown

During these last few weeks of lockdown, we have been discovering some new things.

Along with many other Christians who are at home unable to go out to work, we have had more time and opportunity to read the Bible, pray, and worship together. During this time our love for Jesus has been reignited as we have uncovered more of God's truth that has always been there, but we have not appreciated before.
