A Call to Prayer for the Nations
The Whole World Filled with His Glory
Luke 4:14–19
Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside. He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone praised him. He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Prayer Guide
Today we are praying for God to heal our nation and our world
Choose a country God has placed on your heart, and pray for that nation. Pray for God’s forgiveness and healing as you colour it on the large map
Read through the scripture describing what the Holy Spirit anointed Jesus to do, pausing on phrases that stand out to you
Pray that the nation(s) you are colouring on the map would experience the good news, the freedom, the recovery, the healing and the favour that the passage describes.
If you have specific prayer requests for a particular country, share with a note on the Prayer Board
Colour in some flags and as you cover the map with colour, pray that God would cover the world with his glory and lift his name high!
