Fire Evacuation Procedure:
Sundays @ The Angel Centre
If there is a fire at the building during a gathering at the Angel Centre, evacuate the building.
A fire will be indicated either by an alarm or the meeting leader announcing, ‘Get out, there is a fire’.
The address of The Angel Centre in case the emergency services need to be called is The Angel Centre, Angel Place, Worcester, WR1 3QN.
Evacuation procedure:
On hearing the alarm on a Sunday morning, everyone is to evacuate the building as quickly and calmly as possible and assemble in the designated area, away from the building, and await further instructions. DO NOT STOP to collect belongings.
The assembly area at the Angel Centre is:
Located outside Crown Burger Bar opposite the Angel Centre
If the fire alarm sounds before the children have left for their groups…
Everyone should leave the building via the nearest fire exit and meet in the assembly area.
Parents, if your child is not with you (e.g. has gone to the toilet on their own), collect them from the toilet if it is safe to do so, and escort them from the building. Tell the Security person what you are doing.
If it sounds when the children are in their groups…
Everyone should leave the building via the nearest fire exit. Parents can exit via the nearest fire exit and meet up with their children in the assembly area.
The children, meanwhile, will exit directly from their room and proceed to the assembly area, cared for by their group leader.
Whilst people are heading to the assembly area, toilets and upstairs rooms need to be checked. This is the responsibility of whoever is on security duty that morning.
Once the building is clear, and everyone has been accounted for, we can return into the building.
At all times, keep calm, don’t rush. Remember your safety is paramount so only proceed where it is safe to do so.
