Daily Blast - Minor Prophets: Day 7

Scripture

Reflection

So far in the book of Joel, we have read about the destruction that has come and the call to repent and seek God’s face for what is next. As a prophet, Joel knew what was on God's heart and was moved to share that with people. In this, Joel asked and inspired everyone (children, adults, elders, and priests) to all meet with one goal which was to get closer to God through prayer, fasting, and repentance. But also, to bring their hearts back to what is most important, knowing who God is to them.

In verses 22–26, we read and see the restoration of not just the lands that were destroyed, but also the return of fruit, joy, rains, and promises. The important thing to focus on here is the rains; through rains, the people can go about life in a way that allows them to grow and blossom. The promises of God to the people in this section helped in renewing their hope.

Challenge

As a prophet, Joel was obedient and aware of what message God wanted him to share with those around him.

Ask God to give you His plan/message for a friend, your family, and even for yourself as life goes on day by day.

Imagine how you’d feel when your obedience to share God's word with someone becomes what changes their life!
